Stop the Execution of Troy Davis

Troy Davis has been on Georgia's death row for nearly two decades for a murder he says he didn't commit. The evidence of his innocence keeps piling up, but he has been unable to get a hearing of new evidence.

The Supreme Court intervened in his case in September, but ultimately declined to hear his case. He received another stay from the 11th U.S. Circuit Court on October 24, so there is still hope, and Troy needs your help more than ever.

Please pledge to take action on Troy's case before it's too late.

  1. This is a one-time pledge that can be fulfilled between Oct 23, 2008 and Oct 27, 2009.

Ni hao.  An injustice to any is an injustice to all, "we, the people...", can't allow it  :)   The fundamental thing taught by Jesus was destruction and murder are of no profit or pleasure, something almost all supposed Christians are anti-thetically opposed to, as is your gov't; and a gleaning from Native American teaching, et al, all life are needed threads in the fabric of life.  Put your shadow behind you, give the gift that keeps on giving, a hand to a sister and/or brother  :)

Give this man a retrial otherwise you risk not only killing an innocent (of this crime) man, you risk reinforcing racially based (at least partially justified) expectations held by many people that the system will cheat you so you might as well do what you have to if there is no justice. Keep justice unbiased both in practice and perception or you will breed resentment, hopelessness and more crime.

Troy got a stay today! I updated the action because the stay is only temporary and he still needs our support.
