Support the National Criminal Justice Act

On March 26, Sen. Jim Webb introduced the National Criminal Justice Act of 2009, calling for a blue-ribbon panel "to look at every aspect of our criminal justice system with an eye toward reshaping the process from top to bottom."

I Support the Criminal Justice Act

Dear Representative,

I'm writing to express my support for the Criminal Justice Act of 2009, introduced by Sen. Jim Webb on March 26.

Over the last three decades, failed criminal justice policies have led to an explosion in our prison population and have destroyed millions of lives while failing to address violent crime and other social ills. It's time to reexamine the War on Drugs and our system of incarceration without rehabilitation. We can do better, and I urge you to work with your constituents to build a more humane criminal justice system - one that keeps citizens safe and respects the value of human life.
